When Rabbit insists that he is, in fact, a bear, Professor Darwin Bear is determined to put things straight by writing a proper encyclopaedia — a definitive guide to the different types of teddy bears that exist in the world.

Rabbit, meanwhile, appoints himself assistant… then editor… then something rather more troublesome.

As Darwin dictates his carefully researched stories of Beastly Bears, Chi Bears, Pessabears, Optabears, and many others, Rabbit interrupts with questions, objections, ideas, and an inconvenient habit of misunderstanding. 

Between the stories, life carries on: tea is made, work is avoided, feelings are hurt, titles are claimed, and important conversations are postponed.

Because while Darwin believes he is educating the world, Rabbit believes something else entirely is at stake.

Basher tries everything to get rid of the embarrassingly UNbeastly rabbit, with no success. In the end, there is only one, horribly risky, horribly difficult option left to him.

This particular challenge will take all his cool, cunning and creativity and will bring some surprises along the way!

Basher is starting to question the definition of a Beastly Bear. He discovers Celebrity Clubs which are less Beastly Bear and more silly hair. Something needs to be done and who better than the Beastliest Bear of the Year?

Jealous of his success, Greasy Joe issues a challenge he thinks Basher cannot possibly win – but he reckons without the skill and cunning of Basher, Rabbit and their new band of unbeastly side-kicks.

Determined to get revenge, Joe comes up with a dastardly plan to get Basher out of his life for good – and this time Basher’s cunning can only get him so far.

Is this the end for the Beastliest Bear? Will Basher and Rabbit be parted forever? Maybe not, but as well as a lot of luck, and a healthy dose of courage, they will need old friends and new, something borrowed — and even something blue.
